Term 4 – Newsletter 4

Dear Parents

This day has flown so fast that I’m just getting to reminding you of the events that will take us through to the end of 2017.

A mobile bookshop will be visiting us next Tuesday, 7th November from 13h00 – 15h00. Once again books will be on sale, this time for charity, so I’d like to encourage parents to visit the bookshop when you collect your children, or to send some money along with them to purchase a second-hand book that is in good condition. Our library could still do with more books, so consider donating.

Exams for grade 6 – 9 pupils start on 15th November. Your child should have received exam scope from his/her teaches and should be spending at least one hour per day studying for his/her exams.

Donations for our community service are being collected at school, so please send items along with your child as soon as possible. (Toiletries/chocolates/books/magazines for the residents of Panorama Palms; pet related items for Animal Anti-Cruelty; good used clothes/books/puzzles/games for Boucher House).

TRANSPORT for Community Service
Please consider helping us with transport to the various community service outings to be held at the end of term (Panorama Palms; Animal Anti=Cruelty League; Boucher House). You’re welcome to join in these outings.

Pupils in Grade 5 – 9 will also be visiting the Tygerberg Nature Reserve on 27th November. Please let Ms van Zyl know if you can assist with transport (tvanzyl@abeilleruche.co.za). Pupils must bring R10 for the outing and remember to bring a sunhat, sunscreen and water on that day.

Parents are requested to donate a minimum of R50 for their child’s art, which will be on display at the Prize Giving evening on 5th December. Please place your donation in an envelope marked with your child’s name and “ART EXHIBITION”.

PRIZE GIVING, 5th December, 19h00, St mark’s Church, Edgemead
Each family is requested to bring one plate of sweet and one plate of savoury finger eats to enjoy after the ceremony.

Final reports will be handed to pupils after the Prize Giving ceremony on 5th December.

The deadline for handing in your Walton’s order is tomorrow.

A reminder to make arrangements with pupils who’re exiting your child’s new grade for the purchase of used textbooks or to order textbooks new from Caxton’s/Juta’s or online as soon as possible.
