Term 3 – Newsletter 8

Good morning Parents

Spring has sprung! We had some wonderfully creative spring hats on show last Friday, each hat having something uniquely wonderful about it. Have a look at all the decorative hats on our Facebook page. Once again, many thanks to all parents who supported this fund-raising effort.

I would also like to say a big “Thank you” to teachers, parents and pupils who supported our marketing day at the Edgemead Shopping Centre on Saturday. It was definitely worth the time spent advertising our school and making ourselves known to the community.

Slowly, but surely, we’re ticking off the events of the term, one by one, with the following still to come:

Our raffle officially closed on Friday, but we have decided to delay the announcement of the winner until the Twilight Market on 21st September. This means that there is still a little time to sell tickets at the event. Should you still have a form at home and can sell more tickets, you’re welcome to hold onto it until 20th September, or to send it back to school, as you have already played your part in supporting this fund-raising effort.

TWILIGHT MARKET, 21st September, 18h00 – 20h00
Our Twilight Market will take place from 18h00 – 20h00 on 21st September. We welcome all to come along. I’ll be speaking briefly about the alternative educational environment that Abeille Ruche provides and other speakers will be informing visitors about their field of expertise. Our classrooms will be available for viewing, and we hope to attract more pupils to our school through this informative, yet fun evening. Market stalls will be offering a variety of goodies to taste and items to purchase.

The market will be held on the Friday evening leading into the long weekend, so what a good way to start long weekend.

SPEECH & DRAMA EVENING, 26th & 27th September, 19h00
Our first dress rehearsal will take place on 17th September. Please could you make sure that your child has all the items needed with him/her at school on that day. Do let your child’s teacher know if you’re having difficulty with any of the items so that we can see if we can help.

Please order your tickets at R30 each and indicate on your order form which of the two evenings you will attend. While there may be some space for one or two to squeak in on the night, we would prefer you to pre-order your tickets, as this is the first time we’re using our school as the venue and running over two nights. It will help us if we know how many will be attending on each night.

With all the excitement of the Speech & Drama Evening, Twilight Market, etc, we are not forgetting that term assessments are underway and reports will be sent out electronically on 28th September.

We have reached that time of year again, when we need to know how many spaces are available for new pupils in 2019. Please complete the readmission form emailed and send it back to school by 12th October. Should you prefer to receive a hard copy, please let me know.

BREAK-UP DAY, 28th September
School will close at 10h30 on Friday 28th September and re-open on Tuesday 9th October.

Have a wonderful first week of spring.

Kind regards
