Term 4 – Newsletter 6

Dear Parents

Good afternoon all and welcome to another fun-filled week at Abeille Ruche. There are quite a few reminders for upcoming bits and pieces, along with preparations for next year, so please note the following:

Exams start next Wednesday, 28th November. Pupils in Grades 6 – 9 will be allowed to leave school after their exams each day, so that they may study in a quiet space at home. Should you prefer your child to study at school, he/she is welcome to stay until the normal closing time.

Pupils in Grades 1 – 5 will continue to be taught and will complete their year-end assessments during the course of the normal school timetable.

School will close at 13h00 for all pupils from Monday 3rd to Thursday 6th December
School will close at 10h30 on 7th December, as pupils will need to return for their Prize Giving in the evening. School will close for pupils on 7th December after Prize Giving.

We still have a few Speech & Drama commemoration mugs left, so please order by placing R60 per mug in an envelope, marked with your child’s name and send to the school.

We are looking forward to displaying our pupils’ art work, created during the course of the year, on 5th December, from 17h30 – 19h00. Snacks will be available, so we invite you to pop in after work for a browse around our gallery. you will be able to “purchase” your child’s art for a donation, that can be placed in an envelope and sent to the school.

Should you wish to make use of Walton’s for the purchase of your stationery, please ensure that your order form is returned to the school by this Friday, 16th November.

TEXTBOOKS 2019 (GR 4 – 9 pupils)
Should you wish to sell your child’s textbooks, please make a poster advertising the books, the cost and your contact details. There will be textbooks available for sale on 6th December (date moved from 27th November at the supplier’s request). An order form will be attached to your child’s homework book in the course of this week.

Many thanks to all parents who have already sent donations in for the various charity outreach projects we’ll be holding at the end of term. Your generosity is much appreciated.

“The day will come when, after harnessing space, winds, the tide and gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of love. And, on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, [humanity] will have discovered fire.” —Teilhard de Chardin
